DAVID KRAMER . Mar-A-Lago Sunsets
During the pandemic lockdown, after abandoning my studio, I began to work on hook rugs on my kitchen table. For subject matter I turned to instagram and found friends and strangers alike posting beautiful sunsets from where they were. I was in Manhattan and the mood seemed very dark. So with some irony and satire, with wry commentary written across the horizon, I began to make hook rugs that depicted those sunsets that I could not witness for myself.
