HERTHA HANSON
Since 2012 I have been working on a long serial of paintings. The paintings shown here are a part of that serial. I give each painting a number as I start painting. Some paintings are discarded, some continue on to become a part of the work that I show. But all paintings, discarded or not are a part of the bigger body of work. They are all a part of the continuation that leads to the future paintings. I find myself deeply invested in questions of time and change. How one thing leads to another, the traces that lead back in history beyond our own lives. I find my self invested in growth, how something can grow and expand in unexpected ways. This film is about my own growth as a human being and as an artist. It is a message in a bottle through time.
