DRIFTINGSPACE
Driftingspace is a performative arts and education partnership between Sally Hall and Jason Hirons, based in the city of Plymouth, UK. Their works explore the cityscape, inclusivity in education and the arts, and are realised through performative lectures, walks, bus tours, films and installations. The duo also run and curate the ad hoc, nomadic scratch event Textually Active.
Driftingspace uses tactics such as ambulation, distraction and play to shape the dialogue between artists and participants, educators and students to one that is critical, fun and supportive. Using these tactics to draw out an immersive learning experience, they hope to show how being inclusive opens up a more discursive and purposeful creative learning culture.
Driftingspace are founding members of Inter:change, a collective of artists, architects, activists and change-makers.
