Intermingled thoughts for transformation
Thinking about the strange meanders my works takes and how the different pieces connect, the word that comes to my mind is Alchemist, or how to find different media to distill the same theme that haunts my work:
How can I create pieces that help the viewer connect to their deep core, to their soul, to their life path. To remove, even just momentarily, the daily clutter and noise to access the source.
Over the years I investigated
• interrelatedness through line drawings that connect us with our environment.
• interactions through participation in the outcome of works with software.
• connecting of mind and body with nature through a series of questions that resulted in paintings, drawings and wall pieces.
• Edible landscape walks where i tell ancient stories intermingled with contemporary science about plant’s healing powers on the body.
• Wall paintings made in situ to enhance a place’s feeling of belonging after interviewing the owners.
• Soul ceramics to give the user the possibility to ritualise daily moments and thus give him an opening into a more sacred space while ingesting foods, drinks, or providing vessels to bring nature inside of his living place. To blur the boundaries between the functional and sculptural.
The underlying energy is always one of transformation, transcendence through daily acts of reconnection. Much based upon the idea of balancing the full and the empty into space and life itself.
